A Salute to Veterans!
August 24, 2013 - Thank you to the Great Lakes Chapter of The Links for conducting a clothing drive for Jackets for Jobs during their 20th anniversary. Thank you ladies for helping to empower women and assist those in need.
June 17th - June 21st, 2013
The Farbman Group is partnering with Jackets for Jobs to collect 1,000 gently used suits in five days, to help unemployed job seekers.
The effort is titled "Drive to Thrive" and runs from Monday, June 17 through Friday, June 21.
You can drop off both men's and women's suits at the Detroit and Detroit-area Farbman Group office properties.
Jackets for jobs is a Detroit-based nonprofit organization that helps provide career skills training, employment etiquette and professional clothing to job seekers. The organization relies on clothing donations to ensure it has the inventory to appropriately dress its clients for work.
The guidelines for items donated are: all clothing must be clean, dry-cleaned, washed or ironed and on a hanger. Clothing must be in good condition with no stains, holes, missing buttons or broken zippers.

NAWBO is partnering with Jackets for Jobs and holding a clothing drive. Jackets for Jobs assists low income individuals with proper career clothing in order for them to have appropriate interview clothing and help them win that job they may be seeking. Many of their clients are entering the job market for the first time; 95% are single mothers; most report household incomes of less than $10,000.

Womens Empowerment Program at JFJ Hosted by:Smart & SEXY
March 13, 2013 Jackets for Jobs in partnership with The Women's Alliance will kick off the National Smart and Sexy Day celebration to create awareness on opportunities for women to feel capable, feminine and empowered from the inside out.
The day long celebration will provide a day of workforce training, professional image classes and inspirational speakers for women with the goal to enable them to take action, secure employment and enhance the quality of their lives.
5 other cities are celebrating Smart & Sexy Day, the other participating agencies include: Bottomless Closet (New York City, NY), Career Wardrobe (Philadelphia, PA), Image for Success (San Rafael, CA), Suited for Success (Oklahoma City, OK), and Dreams to Reality (Jefferson City, MO).
The Smart & Sexy Day is now a nationally recognized holiday and listed in the Chase Book of Holidays and the Associated Press Daybook, which not only recognizes all holidays but submits them to more than 60,000 media outlets worldwide. Mayor Dave Bing has given Jackets for Jobs a proclamations stating March 13, 2013 is Jackets for Jobs, Smart & Sexy Day. The holiday was developed in 2012 as a joint partnership between TWA and Ariela-Alpha International, one of the largest privately held lingerie companies in the country.

Jackets for Jobs & "Count Me In" held an awesome workshop on September 28th, 2012, teaching women how to pitch their business and make millions. Each lady in attendance received a black leather purse, compliments of Jackets for Jobs.
Purpose of the gift, to encourage each lady, when you make millions, you will need a purse to carry your money. It was a GREAT event!!!!!!!
From Monday, April 12 through Friday, April 23, 2010, Wayne Cares will once again collect items for donation to Jackets for Jobs, a non-profit organization that provides interview-quality, professional business clothing at no charge to economically disadvantaged individuals in the Metropolitan Detroit area. Since 2008, Wayne State University has generously donated more than 16,000 items to Jackets for Jobs.
