MEET THE CAREER WARDROBE DIRECTOR: BETTY HENDERSON

Betty Henderson is co-partner and Director of Career Wardrobe for Jackets for Jobs, Inc., which is a nonprofit organization that provides employment etiquette, career skills training and professional clothes to low-income individuals. Betty has trained over 14,000 women with employment skills. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Wayne State University.

She is a retired Manager from GM. She is a sought after speaker and a member of Association of Image Consultants International, member of Red Hat Society, a life member of the NAACP, Member of the Charles H. Wright Museum and founding sponsor of the Martin Luther King National Memorial Project and she serves on the Industrial Council of Job Corp. Betty serves on the Official Board at her church, Fellowship Chapel, and is the Historian for the Women’s Christian Fellow.

Betty and Jackets for Jobs have appeared on the Today Show with Al Roker, she has participated in ringing of the closing bell for NASDAQ in New York City seen on CNN. Betty and Jackets for Jobs has been featured on the View.

Betty is a member of Fellowship Chapel, and the founding President of the Women's Christian Fellowship and is currently serving her 31st year as President of the Altar Circle. Betty enjoys traveling, entertaining friends, playing cards and reading. Her favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not on your own understanding, But in all thine ways acknowledge Him and He will direct
