Volunteering at Jackets for Jobs - making a difference in the community

Jackets for Jobs, Inc. offers wonderful opportunities to serve & make a difference in the Metro Detroit Area. Volunteers are trained to work directly with clients to prepare them for the work place or to work behind the scenes; collecting, sorting, tagging and managing inventory

Personal Shopper

The Personal Shopper Volunteer assists the Jackets for Jobs, Inc Program Coordinator in providing, one-on-one assistance to clients while outfitting them with professional clothing and accessories. The major responsibilities include assisting clients in selecting clothing that is appropriate for the client in terms of size and fit and ensuring that each client’s intake form is accurately completed.


Apparel Maintenance Assistant

The Apparel Maintenance Assistant supports the Jackets for Jobs, Inc Program Coordinator to ensure that the professional apparel center is stocked with appropriate items and the donation facility is neatly organized. The major responsibilities include greeting donors, receiving donations, offering tours of facility, sorting, tagging and sizing clothing.


Office Support

The General Office Support Volunteer assists the Jackets for Jobs, Inc Program Coordinator with clerical duties to ensure the smooth running of business processes. The major responsibilities include answering telephones, making copies, faxing, filing and greeting clients. Very detail-oriented data entry experienced people especially needed.

PR/Marketing Committee

Jackets for Jobs, Inc needs individuals to serve on the PR/Marketing Committee to assist in the development of marketing materials, as well as support in exploring avenues to gain increased awareness of the services provided to metro Detroit low-income women.
